Are you going to Scarborough Fair...?

I watched Stardust yesterday, and I loved it. <3 OMG, I'll be honest when I say I'm not a huge fan of Robert De Niro, but the scenes with him and his ship's crew made me laugh. Oh and OF COURSE BEN BARNES WAS IN THE MOVIE. I swear, I'm not stalking him. ;P He just likes me, I think.

I am probably going to see the new Twilight movie. Not by choice, either. My friends are FORCING me to go with them. TO THE MIDNIGHT OPENING SHOW. I may just ditch them. Psh, I'm not happy about having to waste money to go see a movie that I will not like.

Oooh, and it raining today. It's perfect, I don't have to go out either. :D I think it's hot chocolate time! Yay!!

There is a Renaissance Faire in Escondido this weekend and damn it I WANT TO GO.

~*Disneyland Post*~

Disneyland at last! I'm kinda busy right now, so this is going to be kinda quick.

First off, my dad dropping us off at Disneyland:

Paulina:

And me:

Newlyweds!

This part of the Jungle Cruise made me laaaugh.

Can you spot Mickey Mouse in this picture?

Paulina's model picture. She tried to recreate this face in all of the other pictures, but she wasn't able to, lol.

The great Walt Disney:

Paulina and I were unsure about this pumpkin's effectiveness.

Being silly. :P

Mmm, pretzel with cream cheese.

Small World was closed. :(

Pizza break.

Tired of standing in line:

So I guess I tried to wake myself up, lol.

Pau has the glazed, tired look on her face.

Uuugh, these shoes completely murdered my feet. I still have the blisters.

Paulina says I look like I have a double chin here:

And that's it for now. I have tons to do today. I have to clean the house cause yesterday my friends and Pau's friends came and now there are soda cans and candy wrappers everywhere. Better get cleaning.

Coffee is amour.

Phew! Finished the art project last night. I tried to take a picture of it, but the thing has a serious glare.

I went out to see Paranormal Activity 3 on Saturday with several friends. It was more funny than scary to be honest, but I had heard that it was really scary, so I was covering my eyes the entire time but was somewhat disappointed. It was made funnier by the LOUD outbursts from my scared-as-hell friend. Oh, and he's gay and hilarious. This is important.

SPOILERS, in case anyone reads this and cares.

*Little person under a sheet appears in frame.*

My friend: "DANG GIRL, GO BACK TO BED."

People in the theater: *laugh* *Secretly thinking that my friend is going to a special hell for talking during the movie.*

*Little person under the sheet is now behind the blonde babysitter.*

My friend: "Oooh, girl, ooh, girl-"

*Person disappears from under the sheet, leaving it in a crumpled heap on the floor*

Entire theater: *Screams*

My friend (much louder than everyone else): "OH MY GAH OH MY GAAAHH!"

Heh, well, it was kind of a had-to-be-there moments.

I am finally going to color some comics. Now that I have time. :)

I'm burning incence tonight. ^_^

Went downtown with my friends yesterday. *checks time* Oh, wait, technically two days ago. (Monday already? Fuck that.) Downtown San Diego is the best. I want to live there one day. Sure, there are creeps, but you just have to know how to handle them. ;P You gotta be tough to live there. Anyway, we went to eat at Sammy's Woodfired Pizza and we got a free sundae because the waiter was super-nice. He got a good tip that day. ^_^

So, pretty fun weekend!

Uh, what else? Oh yeah, I finished that book I was talking about in my last post. Kitty and the Midnight Hour. It's very good. I'm pretty sure I saw like ten other books of the same series at Border's, so, I'll have to read those too eventually. o.O I don't particularly like leaving a series unfinished.

Started reading The Lord of the Rings, because if I don't read those books I will be an embarrassment to the fantasy-geek community.

Erg, tired. Better go to sleep before I start rambling like a fool.

I like turtles.

I'd like to get back in the habit of writing on this blog again. I still think Livejournal is cooler, but I already have so many posts here, so yeah.

Well, I've been seriously fleshing out my Estradia novel. I've started writing again, and I've been drawing the characters. Here's a sneaky peek (I also did character profiles on them, very long ones that I don't feel like posting here, but they're in the description of the drawings):

This one is the crappy one I did at four in the morning:

And this one is better:

I'm also working on something for my sister's best friend's 15th birthday. (I guess she's my friend too, haha, but it's more accurate to say my sister's friend.) Huh, that's weird. My sister and her friends are 15 fucking years old. For a moment there, I felt old. Is that sad?

I'm still reading Interview with a Vampire. I'm not sure if I like it yet, even though I'm halfway through the book. Heh, I guess I don't like it much, which is strange, since I loved the movie. Usually books are better. Next on my reading agenda is Kitty and the Midnight Hour, which seems like a very cool book.

NYAN CAT.

Not sure what to say. Been drawing like a madwoman. I'm pretty happy with my shiz. Except that now I've realized that the colors look different in the drawings depending on which of my laptops I see it with. >:( So that's poopie.

Um. Entered a drawing contest. I hope I win, or at least place.

School is kinda boring, I have to keep reminding myself that my priority there is to make friends. Which is a little twisted, but really important for me. It's sad to imagine myself living my life completely friendless. What would the point of life be then?

Midnight ramblings seem to be taking over this blog. hehe.

Also, this made me laugh.

Hung out with a friend today, after a lot of "...weeeell, I think I can hang out..." on her part. I felt very ambivalent about going after that. But we ended up going to this sandcastle competition at the beach. There were so many people there, it was so uncomfortable. Then after an hour she had to go back home.

Sadly, I think we're going to drift apart. I'm not being pessimistic, just honest. It's happened a lot to me in my life, y'know, fair-weather friends, and now I just kind of expect it. Still, I'm hurt. Can't seem to avoid that.

It's happened so much, I'm starting to think it's not them, it's me. That hurts more.

Stuffness

Haven't posted much this July... been kinda busy with art.

Not much to say, except that my life is pretty boring. I am seriously looking forward to hanging out with my friends this weekend. I just hope they don't cancel, it's happened more than once lately.  Feeling a bit bleh today.

I'm writing this post on my mom's ipad. It is cool.

Been in Nogales, Arizona. It's hot as hell there. About 107 in the day. bleeeeh.

I'm back home now, home sweet home. :)Anyway, a little something happened in Nogales. Me and my dad were going to take both my laptops to this computer repair place, because they both had some issues, nothing major, just annoying. On our way in, my dad accidentally dropped the bag with both my laptops in it. And my newer laptop's monitor shattered. Heh, it was kind of a bummer. But yeah, my dad felt really bad. I didn't really get mad or anything, cause I knew it was an accident. The computer repair guy ordered a new one and I should be getting it back on saturday.

Some good times in Nogales with the fam. I got to meet my almost two month old niece. Monsoon season was starting, and the Arizona desert skies were gorgeous.

I'm going to meet my friends today. Should be fun. I iz happy.:D

Next week will be really fun, were all going to Sedona, Arizona. It's one of my favorite places in the world, that I've been to obviously.

Friendless

A few weeks ago, I was feeling all lonely and friendless and stuff, and I got the urge to write about the kind of friend I would like to have. So this is what I came up with (it was three in the morning, so I was a little loopy):

"I want someone who will talk with me for hours on end about how much Fox sucks for canceling Firefly; How badass Jayne’s hat is; How awesome it would be to be a bender, like Aang and Katara and Toph; What it would be like to live in Middle Earth, or Hogwarts; The pros and cons of being a Griffindor, or a Ravenclaw, or a Hufflepuff, or a Slytherin; How awesome it would be to be an expert archer or katana wielder; The best place for leveling up in Ivalice and Spira; Final Fantasy strategies; and the like.
I want a friend who will dress up as Vampire Hunter D, or American McGee’s Alice, or a steampunk Airship Pirate and have a photo shoot. Someone who will conjure spirits with me, freak out at the tiniest noise with me, sleep with the lights on with me. Someone who knows that the nineties was the best time for cartoons and tv shows. Someone who has a dark and twisted sense of humor. Someone who will sing the Phantom’s (or Christine’s) words of Down Once More  with me. A friend who does not murder the English language unless being ironic (liek hai, OMG lawl).
I want a friend who is a-ok with sarcasm and wit. A friend who stays up all night reading. Someone who sees art and poetry and beauty in everything. Someone who respects nature and understands that, really, humans are not the biggest or the baddest things out there.
I want someone whom I can tell everything to, and he or she would not judge and would understand. I want someone who accepts my need to wake up in the morning and dwell on my lingering dreams.
Someone loyal, supportive, understanding, and properly geeky. I’d return the favor."

Sometimes I feel like the only geeky person on the planet. I can't be the only one with such diverse nerdy/cultural interests. Can I?

Anyway, a little update on my art. I wanted to make something for my little sis, and I got inspired by one day when we were making cupcakes. Here is the process:
